Pontiac Lake Score-O Night-O Results

Meet Director:  Jim Hafke

 

The 25 controls were set and the night was failing.  All participants were signed in and were preparing maps, clue sheets, and planning strategies.  An estimate of 60-80 people showed up to participate as groups or as individuals.  The weather was cold and wet, just right to make finding controls an exercise of the mind and body. 

 

At 7:00 pm the group went off to get as many points (each control was assigned a point value between 1 and 4) within the 2 hour 15 minute time limit.  In collecting the high point value controls, a route would require a much longer distance to cover and harder navigation.   As time passed, the night was getting colder and darker. 

 

As the time approached the time limit, out of the night came many lights.  In an impressive showing of strategy and skill the overall winner picked a game plan that was focused on collecting the high point value controls.  Water, fruit and coolies were enjoyed by all.
